The walls of the temple seemed to close in around them. The once faint whispers had become deafening, and the floor trembled beneath their feet. As the cracks spread across the stone, a foul stench filled the air, and the temperature dropped sharply.
“We have to get out of here!” Sam shouted, pulling at the door. But it wouldn’t budge.
Suddenly, from the depths of the altar, figures began to emerge—shadowy, humanoid forms with glowing eyes. Their faces were twisted in expressions of pain and anger, and they moved toward the group with deliberate, menacing intent.
“Run!” Tom yelled, grabbing Lena’s arm and pulling her away from the altar. But there was nowhere to run. Every exit was sealed, and the temple itself seemed to pulse with malevolent energy.
The spirits, once whispers on the wind, were now fully manifested, their anger palpable. They circled the group, their eyes fixed on the intruders who had dared to disturb the island’s slumber.
“What do they want?” Mia cried, her voice trembling with fear.
“They want us to pay for what we’ve done,” Lena said, her voice barely above a whisper. “We unleashed the curse.”
As the spirits closed in, the group realized that they were no longer just explorers—they were prisoners of the island. The shadows lashed out, their touch freezing cold, and with each strike, the group felt their strength fading.
In the chaos, Sam spotted something—an inscription on the altar, barely visible beneath the dust. “Look!” he shouted, pointing. “It’s a way to break the curse!”
The group scrambled toward the altar, trying to decipher the ancient script. But as they did, the spirits grew more aggressive, their howls filling the air.
The only way to break the curse was to return what had been taken—by offering a sacrifice.
