John Cena Will Retire from WWE After Final Match at WrestleMania 41 in 2025

John Cena announced on Saturday that he will retire from in-ring competition after his final match at WrestleMania 41. Cena made the announcement during the Money in the Bank premium live event at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. WrestleMania 41 is set to take place on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 in Las Vegas. Cena made his WWE television debut in 2002. He worked his way up to the top and became WWE champion three years later, beating John "Bradshaw" Layfield at WrestleMania 21. He was one of the WWE's biggest stars (if not the biggest at times) during the 2000s and 2010s, winning 13 WWE Championships, three World Heavyweight Championships and four tag team titles. He's a two-time Royal Rumble winner, one-time Money in the Bank victor and a five-time United States Championship belt holder as well. The 47-year-old Cena hasn't wrestled nearly as much for the past five years, although he's made some notable appearances, including during the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns main event at WrestleMania XL. He's become an established Hollywood actor in recent years, appearing in movies such as the Fast & Furious series, the Suicide Squad and Barbie as well as television shows (e.g. The Bear). Now it appears Cena's wrestling career is officially coming to an end, but a retirement tour is clearly in the works now as he confirmed his appearances at the first Raw on Netflix, Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber.
