For the many parents of victims of the Sandy Hook shooting, the purchase and closure of InfoWars is seen as justice for lies spread by Jones and his platform that further exacerbated the tragedy they suffered. Robbie Parker, the father of Sandy Hook victim Emilie Parker, declared that it is "the justice we have long awaited and fought for."

"The world needs to see that having a platform does not mean you are above accountability," Parker said, via Reuters. "The dissolution of Alex Jones' assets and the death of Infowars is the justice we have long awaited and fought for."

Some users on social media have found the decision wildly funny while others are ready to go to war for Jones and his platform:

"the onion buying infowars is honest to god one of the funniest things I've ever seen anyone do in my entire life. the more I think about it the funnier it gets. every detail I learn makes it more hilarious. zero notes, flawless execution in every way. bravo," one user wrote on X.

"The Infowars have been won. Long live the Onionwars," wrote another.

"The Onion buying Alex Jones' InfoWars is the funniest thing ever," a third wrote bluntly.

InfoWars may be on the verge of dying, but if there's one thing people should know about Jones it's that he won't go down quietly.
